World Oceans Day - a growing global event to raise awareness of the health of our Oceans, and to promote personal and community action. We all depend on a healthy Ocean, lets support clean energy choices, reduce the rubbish we leave on beaches and dump in the ocean. Human activities take a terrible toll on the worlds seas. Pollution and over exploitation, along with rising sea levels and increasing acidity is having such a devasting impact on fragile marine ecosystems.
"Our oceans, our responsibility" emphasizes our personal and collective duty to protect the marine environment, and carefully manage its resources for the all life in the oceans as well as our own well being.

Alex is an experimental Sculptor who is about to embark on a year long residency in Iceland. She has a number of projects planned which will be a response to this unique landscape. She is interested in natural processes and patterns in nature. and intends to combine science with art. She is particularly interested in magnetism and fluid dynamics.
