 For my final response I have started with an ancient cunneiform tablet. Having seen them in the British Muesum, I intrigued to notice infomation was contained within a sealed clay tablet. To retreve the message the clay envelope would have to be broken to reveal the message. These clay tablets were preserved when invaders set fire to the city thereby accidently firing them. Their original intent to destroy meant they have survived for hundreds of years. They still speak to us!
The message inside this book reads the Heart now Held, and is written in English and cunneiform. The figure is repeated only in this final book, the figure opens to reveal a symbolic flower in gold leaf. The cuneiform tablets left me thinking about what endures. I believe it is the human spirit, and our ability to find ways to carry on when facing exceptional circumstances. |
