What a sight to wake up to on a cold winters morning - a blanket of thick frost over everything. Armed with camera, and a thick warm coat, I couldn't resist taking a detour on my way to the studio. The air was still, the grasses and branches coated with ice crystals, all bathed in a soft gentle light. I spent a pleasant hour surounded by the gentle rustle of ice crystals softly falling to the ground. Wonderful! The landscape was a delight with it's rich array of texture and light. Even the puddles offerred some interesting details. Pebbles and stones wrapped in ice with the sunlight drawing outlines around them. Within an hour or so the sun had broken through the mist, raising the tempreture from -1 to +1. Enough to melt the frost and return the scene to its more muted winter tones.
